for your practice at the Gradiance site. You will not get any grade updates for redoing any of the Gradiance homeworks (or lab) between December 2 and December 11, 2008.

The topics to be covered by the final exam (to be given in the usual classroom on Thursday December 11 between 1pm and 4pm) are listed in the learning objectives for all the chapters and sections of the required textbook. Homeworks 1 through 8 should give you a fair sampling of problems that are similar to the expected final-exam problems. Very important: please do not expect any final-exam problems to be multiple choice; in other words, please expect to provide for each exam problem (i) a correct (concise) final answer, and (ii) a detailed solution for partial credit. Another very important thing to keep in mind: all crib-sheet violations will be considered cheating; please see the syllabus for the allowed crib-sheet formats.

As a reminder, no regular office hours will be held by the course staff after December 5. However, office hours for the final exam will be held as follows:

• between 4-5pm on Wednesday December 10 by the TA in her office;
• between 10:30am-12pm on Thursday December 11 (final-exam day), by the instructor in room EBII-2276; and
• between 3-4:30pm on Monday December 15, by the instructor in room EBII-2276.

For all other meetings concerning CSC 540, please contact the instructor after January 1.
